Hope Bible Chapel is a home fellowship in the Fruita, CO area. Under Go Give Hope, and along with the Calvary Chapel of Grand Junction, Pastor Mark Fisher along with others have started this fellowship. They meet in the various homes on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
HOPE... Biblical “Hope” means to have a confident expectation in the reality of God’s promises. Through Jesus Christ, the One who died for our sins, was buried and raised from the dead, we have a sure and living hope… “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” 1 Peter 1:3
Through faith in Jesus Christ, God desires for us to abound in hope through the power that comes from Him… “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
Living in HOPE thru the resurrected Christ is how we can navigate in this turbulent world in which we live.
BIBLE... The word “Bible” refers to the Holy Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments. It is also called The Word of God. Jesus Himself is called the Word of God… “And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory…" and “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.” John 1:14 & Revelation 19:13
The Apostle Peter said to Jesus… “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68
Jesus Himself said… “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Luke 21:33
The Lord’s desire is for us to trust His Word the Bible, and have it as the basis of all our teachings and practices.
CHAPEL... “Chapel” can simply mean a place where people gather to worship God. The New Testament emphasis of worship is not on where people meet, but on how they meet. Jesus Himself said that the basis of the true worship of God would be through the Spirit of God based upon the truth… “…true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24
In Christ, God is still building His family, and a Chapel is simply a place where worshippers of Him gather and are… “…being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5
We at Hope Bible Chapel desire to be...
Intentionally Biblical
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” Colossians 3:16
Firmly Focused
“…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
Encouragingly Simple
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7
Deeply Practical
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Our worship consists of time in the Word of God, accompanied by prayer and praise that is biblically focused, both honoring to our Lord and His Word, and truly encouraging our hope in Him.
